Basics of Flowering Plant Identification

A Certificate Online-training Programme on improving your skills in plant taxonomy

Date
The online workshop will be held from 14th to 16th December 2020.

Summary of the workshop
A common myth surrounding the identification of plants is that ‘every plant looks green’ making it difficult to identify/associate it with any particular name, use or its distribution. Identifying plants by their names becomes very critical in understanding not only its use but also in communicating about its availability in nature.

The innate skill to differentiate forms and colours would play a major role in identifying plants too. The three day hands-on training course through online facilities aims to enable the participants in distinguishing plants and identifying them.

The course will guide the participants to identify plants by observing them in their immediate surroundings. The use of web-based tools to enrich and share knowledge about plant identity will also be discussed.

Course Fees

There is no registration fee for participating in the online workshop.
